Patients

Patients and their families are our top priority. We take pride in providing personalized care that takes into account all aspects of your life.

We aren’t walk-in clinics, so the relationship between our clinics and our patients can be described in a few different ways.

McMaster Family Practice and Stonechurch Family Health Centre

The majority of patients at these academic family health teams are rostered patients. This means that there is a signed agreement between a patient and the clinic. When you are rostered to our clinic, we commit to provide you with timely care. At both of our clinics, we are available to rostered patients by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you have a health concern that cannot wait until regular clinic hours, there is still a doctor available by phone to help you.

Rostered patients commit to contacting their clinic first for non-emergency health concerns. If you have an emergency health concern, please call 911! In other situations, rostered patients will contact their clinic rather than visiting a walk-in clinic.

Rostered patients also have full access to our entire interdisciplinary team, in addition to all the programs and groups we offer throughout the year.

Maternity Centre of Hamilton

Patients at the Maternity Centre do not have to be rostered. You can simply call us and book an appointment. The Maternity Centre also offers pregnancy testing, for those who are unsure if they are pregnant.

You will be part of our clinic throughout your pregnancy, will deliver at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and will continue to be our patient for the first six weeks after your baby is born.
